Credit Card Processing Plug-in for Google Desktop Sidebar

Skipjack’s Credit Card Processing Plug-in for Google Desktop Sidebar is the first payment “plug-in” designed specifically for Google’s popular desktop-based tool. With the plug-in, merchants can quickly access the power of Skipjack’s credit and debit card payment processing with the simple click of a button.

The plug-in allows merchants to enter the customer name, card number, expiry month, purchase amount and comment in the easy to use payment interface. Clicking “Process” sends the payment information to Skipjack for processing. In seconds, the merchant is able to receive a real-time response confirming whether the payment is approved or declined. In each transaction response, the order number, transaction status (e.g. approved/approval code, declined) and status message (e.g. “Insufficient Funds”) is displayed. This allows the merchant to take appropriate action. A unique order number is generated with each transaction. This provides a method of identifying each transaction and also prevents duplicate orders from occurring.

Transaction history is displayed in real time in the Credit Card Processing Plug-in for Google Desktop Sidebar interface. This allows merchants to quickly review their order status, and view the details of each transaction at a glance. Once the payment is complete, the plug-in interface can be “hidden” in the Google Desktop sidebar until it is required to complete another payment.

The Plug-in can be used in one of three operating modes: Demo, Test and Production.

Demo – allows the Plug-in to be tested without processing real credit cards and without a Skipjack payment gateway account.

Test – identical to Demo mode but also adds access to Skipjack Merchant Services to perform additional operations on test payments, advanced reporting etc.

Production - for processing 'live' payments a merchant account and Skipjack Live account are required.

To use Skipjack’s Credit Card Processing Plug-in for Google Desktop Sidebar in Production mode, you must have both a merchant account from a US or Canadian merchant account provider as well as a valid Skipjack Production account. To use the plug-in in Test mode, you must have a valid Skipjack Test account.
